ProWorkflow is working hard to improve our security procedures for all account plans. This means that after September 20th, Two Factor Authentication (2FA) can be added to your account as an extra layer of security at no extra cost.

What is 2FA

In short, 2FA means that after entering a username and password, you will also need to enter an authentication code that you can access on a device such as your phone. This way we can be doubly sure it is you!

Why are we doing this?

Many of our ProWorkflow account contain sensitive information in their projects, and integrate through to accounting providers such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB and FreshBooks. With 2FA enabled, account holders can be assured that no unauthorized user can access this information without being authenticated.

Additionally from September 27th, Staff users of ProWorkflow with Xero integrations will be required to use 2FA to access their account

How will authentication work?

There are a few options as to how to use 2FA in your account

We suggest that accounts with other accounting providers also enable 2FA for all staff as this is fast becoming standard across the industry and may be a requirement in the future.

What 2FA Authentication Providers are Supported?

ProWorkflow will support both Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator Apps to enable this process. Both Google and Microsoft Authenticator apps are free and simple to use and can be downloaded to your phone or as a browser plugin. Once enabled, each user will be presented with a set up screen similar to below:

Once set up, you will need to enter the unique authentication code during the login process as shown:

Importantly, no account or user information is sent to either Microsoft or Google during this process. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your account manager for more information on ProWorkflows two factor authentication.
